Meet the Stemmatters Team

The SENTINEL technology intends to support simple procedures for the surveillance and remote monitoring of early-stage cancer recurrence in high-risk profile patients. The new approach proposes the implantation of a biosensor under the skin for frequent monitoring of the patient’s health status at a very low cost (Project Sentinel | LinkedIn).

To develop an injectable biosensor, the Stemmatters team is focused on designing and testing a novel hydrogel-based formulation supporting a combination of SERS-sensitive gold nanostars and minimally invasive implantation.

The team is composed of Rui Sousa, Pedro Costa, Filipa Sousa, Ana Oliveira, Clara Correia and Diogo Costa who contribute with their expertise and experience in #biomaterials, #medical devices and #GMP compliant processes to successfully develop and validate the SENTINEL biosensor and hopefully contribute to its clinical translation.
